Antique Advertising Hand Fan for Boston's Hotel Woodcock.

Description

The bill gives a vague sense of scale with the opened fan 14+ inches across and 8-1/2" folded.  As might be expected in a paper item this old there is some roughness around the edges of the fan.  The 3rd photo shows the back of the fan with much of the wooden ribbing exposed.  The 4th photo not only shows the delicate silver tracery that covers the fan but has also caught three of the sequins that dot the fan.  In the last photo one sees how the head  of the tassel has been given fullness by wrapping it around a wooden bead.  Shipping is free via 1st class mail.  Return to that oh-so-proper Victorian Era where with a few graceful wrist motions a lady could not only find a moment of relief from Boston's summer humidity but also stave off an attack of the "vapours"!
